What is a register leader for digital securities?

The registry authority maintains a register of tokenized securities (cryptosecurities) and is responsible for treating the cryptosecurities confidentially, ensuring integrity, and ensuring the availability and authenticity of the data.

In Germany, a registry authority is legally required when issuing cryptosecurities. The issuer typically selects the registry authority.

We primarily work with Smart Registry GmbH. Smart Registry GmbH grants investors and any person for whose benefit a right to a cryptosecurity or a restriction on disposal is entered in the cryptosecurity register access to the cryptosecurity register in accordance with legal requirements. The registry authority has a provisional permit for cryptosecurity register management pursuant to § 65 para. 2 of the Banking Act (KWG) and offers the management of a cryptosecurity register into which cryptosecurities within the meaning of § 4 para. 3 of the Electronic Securities Act (eWpG) can be entered. Detailed information can be found in the terms and conditions of Smart Registry GmbH.
